Deputy Injured in Highway Crash


FREEPORT, Maine (WGAN)  A Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputy is being treated for injuries after a rollover crash on I-295 Sunday night.

The sheriff’s office says the deputy was responding to a domestic disturbance in Harpswell around 8:30 p.m. last night when they hit a guard rail in their marked cruiser and rolled several times.

The patrol vehicle was totaled as a result of the crash.  No other vehicles were involved.

The deputy was taken to Maine Medical Center for non life threatening injuries.

The highway was shutdown to one lane following the crash, but all lanes are fully open now.

The crash is under investigation.
