An investigation into child abuse in Dexter led to domestic violence charges for a local man.

Police investigated a report of child abuse in early August, when a 7-month-old infant was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of the child’s father, 23-year-old Kolby Drake of Dexter, who faces assault and domestic violence charges.

Drake was arrested on Wednesday and is expected to make a court appearance this week.
