A dispositional conference will be held with lawyers representing former 2-time gubernatorial candidate Eliot Cutler today.
Culter is currently facing charges for downloading videos of child pornography. According to the Computer Crimes Unit of Maine, authorities found “literally thousands of videos” on Cutler’s hard drive after a raid on his two homes. Cutler was arrested back on March 25th of this year and was let out on bail.
Despite the allegations, the judge allowed Cutler to have access to the internet on his phone and laptop, which his lawyers are “closely monitoring”.
Cutler ran back in 2010 and 2014 and came within 10,000 votes of winning the election in 2010. He lost the election in 2014 with only 8% of the vote.
The meeting will be held at 1:30 today between Cutler’s lawyers and the prosecution. Each count could face Cutler up to 10 years in prison.
