Dog Rescued in Clinton After Fall Through Ice

A dog is recovering after being rescued by firefighters in Clinton Sunday.

Crews were sent to River Road in Clinton on a report of a “dog through the ice”, with two first responders donning water rescue suits and entering the water to successfully rescue the dog.

One crew member from Clinton Fire/Rescue and one from Fairfield-Benton Emergency Service handled the rescue. The Skowhegan Fire Department also arrived at the scene.

The dog was wrapped in blankets and appeared in photos to be resting Sunday afternoon.
