A 42-year-old truck driver from Colorado has injuries after the large box truck he was driving overturned on I-295 in Freeport this morning.

State Police say Nikola Loncar drifted off the right side of the roadway, striking an embankment, before overturning off the roadway.

Loncar was wearing a seatbelt and had to be removed from the truck by Freeport Fire.

He was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with non-life-threatening injuries.

The off-ramp at Exit 24 is currently shut down as recovery crews remove the truck and clean the scene.

Police say the crash took place at about 5:45 a.m. Monday.
