PALMYRA, Maine (WGAN) Police say a Palmyra man was killed Tuesday night when his car collided head-on with a pickup truck.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened on Badgerboro Road in Palmyra just after 6 p.m. Tuesday. 70-year-old William Grant was heading north when his car crossed the center line and hit the truck.

Grant, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck declined medical treatment for some minor discomfort after the crash.

Police are still investigating and say speed and alcohol don’t appear to be factors.
