The crash happened around 7 p.m. on Sunday on Hodsdon Road. Police said 36-year-old Steven McKay of Pownal was traveling at a high rate of speed when he went off the road and struck a tree. He was ejected from the vehicle and found dead at the scene.

Police say speed appears to be the cause of the crash.
