Drug agents arrest mother and son in connection with drug trafficking in Washington County

A mother and son were charged with drug trafficking after drug agents searched a home in Washington County.

Agents with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency searched the home on Jacksonville Road in East Machias on Wednesday morning as part of an investigation into drug trafficking.

Agents seized about 3 grams of suspected fentanyl, 78 grams of suspected crack cocaine and nearly $2,500 in suspected drug proceeds.

61-year-old Tammy Davis of East Machias and her son, 39-year-old Nicholas Ames, were charged with drug trafficking.

33-year-old Jermaine Henry and 27-year-old Rashan Howard, both from New York, were also arrested.

All four were taken to Washington County Jail.

Bail for both Jermaine Henry and Rashawn Howard was set at $50,000 cash. Bail amounts for Tammy Davis and Nicholas Ames are to be set by the court.
