Drug agents seize cocaine and guns from man’s home in Mexico, Maine

MEXICO, Maine (WGAN) A man from Mexico, Maine has been charged with selling cocaine.

Police arrested 42-year-old Richard Burgess and charged him with drug trafficking on Wednesday afternoon. The arrest came after an investigation into the distribution of cocaine from Burgess’ home on Kimball Avenue, where agents made undercover purchases of cocaine from him.

Police and drug agents seized about 400 grams of cocaine, over $15,000 in suspected drug proceeds and 16 guns, many of them loaded and hidden throughout the home. Police also found several grams of cocaine on Burgess. The street value of the cocaine seized is $35,000.

Burgess is being held at Oxford County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.
