WELLS, Maine (WGAN) Maine State Police say two people from Bridgeport, Connecticut are in custody after a drug bust on the Maine Turnpike Tuesday night.

Police say 30-year-old Abijah Williams was driving northbound on the Turnpike in a car containing 56 grams of crack cocaine and 400 bags of fentanyl. Police say the car was stopped for several traffic violations in Wells around 9 PM.

Williams was violating a protective order by being in the car with 32-year-old Mayra Miro, who was also arrested.

Both were charged with aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs. Bail for Mayra was set to $25,000. Abijah was denied bail as he was on parole for a prior charge.
