Former candidate for Maine governor Eliot Cutler could be spending years behind bars for violating probation.

Cutler served less than 8 months behind bars for a child pornography conviction in 2023 and has since been arrested four times for violating probation.

Cutler denied any wrongdoing in court on Wednesday.

A district attorney requested that he be placed behind bars for another 39 months.

The judge declined to rule and set a hearing for April 8.

Cutler ran as an Independent twice in the 2010 and 2014 races for governor.
