Former candidate for governor Eliot Cutler has pleaded not guilty to violating probation for a third time.

Cutler was convicted of possessing child pornography in 2023.

On Monday, police encountered Cutler at a South Portland hotel where they said they saw him carrying empty DVD cases for pornography and later found pornographic DVDs in his hotel room.

In court on Wednesday, Cutler denied violating his probation, despite claims by police who said he admitted to everything when he was caught.
