The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says there’s nothing hazardous at the ongoing fire at a trash facility in Orrington.

The EPA has done particulate and dust collection near the Eagle Point Energy Center and has NOT found significant amounts of mercury or radiation.

Area residents have been concerned about the health effects of smoke that’s been hanging over the Orrington area since Tuesday night.

The fire is still burning, and the Orrington Fire Department says it won’t be extinguished for several more days.
