Father charged with manslaughter in death of 6-week-old son in Brewer

Maine State Police say a Brewer man has been arrested and charged in the death of his infant son.

Police said 36-year-old Ronald Harding was arrested Thursday. He’s charged with manslaughter in the death of his 6-week-old son, who was found to have died from inflicted injuries.

Harding called 911 on Monday to report that his son was unresponsive and not breathing. The infant was hospitalized and in critical condition, before being pronounced dead the following day.

Harding is being held at Penobscot County Jail.

No other details about the investigation have been released.
