Fire in Auburn apartment building injures 3, displaces tenants

Fire crews extinguished a fire at an Auburn apartment building Thursday morning.

The Auburn Fire Department responded to the fire at 395 Court Street around 7:40 a.m.

Crews battled the fire on the second and third floors of the building, as well as a fire in the neighboring building. Early reports indicate a tenant jumped out of a second-floor window. Three tenants were hospitalized with minor injuries, and everyone else was able to get out safely thanks to working smoke detectors.

The American Red Cross is helping those who were displaced.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
