ORRINGTON, Maine (WGAN) Fire Marshals say they’ve identified the two people killed last month in a house fire in Orrington.

Officials say 51-year-old Burton Hagelin Jr., originally from Dover-Foxcroft, died in the fire, which broke out in the home in the early morning hours on January 19th. A woman, Shelly Lynn Murphy, was also killed.

The reason for the delay in identifying Hagelin is that he had told others in the home he was someone else.

The fire appeared to have started in the first floor bedroom and quickly spread to the rest of the home.

Officials say five people were living in the home, which was destroyed.
