Firefighter hospitalized after Kittery blaze expected to be okay

KITTERY, Maine (WGAN) A firefighter was injured while battling flames at a Kittery home on Monday night.

According to CBS 13 news, the assistant fire chief said the fire started at a home on Williams Ave. around 6 p.m. Monday. Firefighters were at the scene for nine hours.

There was one family inside the two-family home but they were able to get out safely.

One injured firefighter was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.

Fire officials said the home appears to be a total loss.

Members of the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office were at the scene Tuesday morning to investigate.
