Firefighters battle woods fire in New Gloucester

NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine (WGAN) A road in New Gloucester was temporarily closed on Tuesday afternoon due to a large woods fire.

The fire department said they were battling a fire in the woods on Intervale Road near the train tracks, causing the closure of Woodman Road and Cobbs Bridge Road. Maine Forest Rangers were assisting with a helicopter.

The public was asked to avoid the area.
