Firefighters pull two people from burning home in Portland

Two people were rescued from a 2-alarm house fire in Portland’s Riverton neighborhood Friday morning.

Neighbors reported seeing smoke coming out of the building at 27 Broadway Street a little after 8 a.m.

The Fire Marshal’s Office confirmed that two adults were taken to Maine Medical Center, but their conditions were unknown Friday evening.

Investigators said the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction.
