Firefighters are advising people to report any large flames on an island in Pushaw Lake after they extinguished a large fire there Saturday morning.

Hudson Fire and Rescue says the fire destroyed two buildings and left one firefighter with minor injuries.

They say that four other fire departments and Maine Forest Rangers helped put out the fire, which reportedly burned down to the ground.

Hudson Fire and Rescue says they will be monitoring this scene very closely for many days and more smoke is expected.

Crews from Bradford, Glenburn, Old Town, G&H Ambulance Service, and Maine Forest Rangers also responded to the fire.

Maine Forest Rangers say their resources worked through the early hours of Saturday morning and throughout the day to fell hazard trees and extinguish active flames and hot spots. They say the island continues to be monitored closely for any further fire activity.
