The State Fire Marshal’s Office is asking for public assistance in its investigation of three arson cases since November at the now-closed Elan School in Poland.

The school was shut down in 2011 over financial issues, and former students have recently accused the school’s staff of emotional and physical abuse over the years.

The Fire Marshall’s Office is urging anyone with information about the fires to come forward as they work to identify people responsible.

Fires were set on November 17, March 1, and most recently on March 7.

Anyone with information is asked to the Fire Marshal’s Office at 207-624-7076 Option 9 Refer tips to Sgt. McMaster.

The Elan School was a boarding school for troubled youths that closed in 2011, citing financial problems and lack of enrollment. Former students allege staff subjected them to physical and emotional abuse.
