FREEPORT, Maine (WGAN)  Police say only one person suffered minor injuries after a five-car crash on Interstate 295 Thursday morning.

Police say a state trooper pulled a car over on the southbound side of the highway.  As cars were slowing down because of the cruiser’s emergency lights, a car was rear-ended, causing a chain reaction crash.

Police say two SUVs, two passenger cars and a tractor trailer were involved.

Traffic was backed up from the crash in Freeport up to Brunswick.

Only one driver, 26-year-old Samantha Marceau from Biddeford, was hurt.  She was taken to Maine Medical Center with a minor head injury.

Police cleared the roadway after about an hour.

No one was cited.
