Hancock County District Court has charged a former Bar Harbor cop with child endangerment.

42 year old Larry Fickett, was arrested at his home in Ellsworth, last May and was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, possession of child pornography and endangering the welfare of a child.

The child endangerment took place for about 10 months in 2023, to a child that turned 6 years old, according to the indictment filed in court.

As of now it’s not clear why the Hancock County DA’s office only charged Fickett with the one charge, which is a misdemeanor and not the other two, which were felonies.
