Former CEO of Central Maine Power returns to company

Central Maine’s Power old CEO is back, in a move that comes as the company works to regain the public’s trust.

CMP has faced increased scrutiny in light of multiple investigations, one of which which uncovered issues that led to errors on many customer’s bills. David Flanagan, who served as CEO from 1994-2000, will be brought back on as the executive chairman of the company’s board of directors. The company’s current CEO, Doug Herling, will report to Flanagan, the Bangor Daily News reports.

Flanagan began his new role on Tuesday.
