Four Arrested After Search of Maine Motel in South Portland

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN)  South Portland Police say four people have been arrested after police executed a high-risk search warrant Tuesday evening.

Police say their warrant was related to an ongoing investigation by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and South Portland Police.  Police say due to the nature of the incident, a SWAT team was called in to help execute the search warrant.

Police say two “flash bangs” were used as they went into Maine Motel on Main Street.  Police say another suspect had reportedly left a short time before the search and that suspect was arrested near 396 Main St. without incident.

Police say no shots were fired and no one was hurt following the search.

Police arrested Freddie Mejias from Standish for aggravated trafficking in heroin and cocaine and possession of heroin.

Jorge Torres from South Portland was charged with aggravated trafficking in heroin and probation violation from a previous trafficking charges.

Misty Gagnon from Fort Fairfield was arrested for theft-related warrants from an outside agency.

And Aaron West from Westbrook was charged with robbery, violating conditions of release and a theft-related arrest warrant.

Police did not release further information about the incidents related to the charges.
