BREWER, Maine (WGAN)  The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says four people are facing charges after agents intercepted two drug shipments heading for Washington and Hancock Counties.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says two Waterville men were charged Friday, after they were found on I-395 in Brewer.

Agents with the MDEA’s Downeast District Task Force identified a vehicle travelling form Central Maine that likely had drugs.

Agents requested police stop the vehicle and help them search it.

35 grams of cocaine base, a few grams of cocaine and $3,500 in cash were seized with the help of a police dog.

Drug agents charged 22-year-old Kenneth Ortega and 45-year-old Wayne Sudborough with trafficking.

Both men were taken to Penobscot County Jail where bail was set at $50,000.

Agents say in an unrelated investigation, MDEA agents learned that two women from the Machias area were traveling out of state to pick up drugs that they planned on selling in Washington County.

The women’s vehicle was stopped around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, along I- 95 in Newport, with help from State Police.

A state police drug detection dog was again brought to the scene and helped agents find 75 grams of heroin and 100 Oxycodone tablets.

Arrested are Meredith Hinerman, 38, of Machiasport and Holly Pellon, 51, of Machias, both charged with aggravated trafficking and transported to the Penobscot County Jail.

Hinerman’s bail is set at $50,000 and Pellon’s bail is set at $75,000.
