The York County Sheriff’s Office says four of it’s employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

York County Sheriff William King says one staff member was feeling ill. He was given a test and sent home. That led to several coworkers also getting tested as a precaution.

Those positive test results came back Thursday morning.

King says voluntary testing was available to all staff, but in light of the new cases, they’ll be testing all employees and inmates, as well as doing enhanced cleaning of all areas. He says the sheriff’s office is still operating at full capacity and there will be no interruption of service.

The Maine CDC was notified of the cases.
