Franklin County man accused of sexually assaulting young girl for 10 months

A 75-year-old Chesterville man is facing up to 30 years behind bars for sexually assaulting a young girl.

According to the Sun Journal, Norman Pelletier was arrested on Nov. 2 for assaulting the girl between January and October of this year.

An investigation was opened in October after a referral from the Maine DHHS.

Pelletier is being held at the Franklin County Detention Center on $20,000 bail.

In addition to prison time, he faces a fine of up to $50,000.
