Short-term rentals will be the focus of a Freeport town council meeting Tuesday night.

According to CBS 13 news, councilors will consider a proposal that would put a handful of restrictions on short-term rentals like Airbnb in the city.

Some residents say the rules should keep neighborhoods quiet, by imposing rules that keep tabs on parking, trash and noise.

The proposal also puts an annual cap of 300 short-term rentals in town per year, and would require registration for each.

It also requires an evacuation plan, a license to prepare or serve food to guests, and would place a limit of 16 attendants on any gathering or event.

That meeting was set to begin Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
