BELGRADE, Maine (WGAN) A fuel delivery truck burst into flames after colliding with an SUV in Belgrade Wednesday morning.

State police say Route 27 near Christy’s Country Store was closed down, and was expected to be open back up again in the afternoon by way of detours. Troopers say the driver of the SUV was crossing Route 27 and didn’t yield to the fuel truck when it was hit.

The Department of Environmental Protection and other agencies were on scene to allow the fire to burn out.

The drivers of both vehicles were injured in the crash, but not hurt by the fire. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.
