Maine State Police say a fugitive wanted on drug-related charges has been taken into custody.

State police spokesperson Shannon Moss says 45-year-old Edward Janak of Bangor was arrested on Hammond Street in Bangor on Wednesday afternoon. He surrendered without incident.

He was wanted on 6 outstanding warrants, including drug trafficking and failing to appear in court. He’s also a convicted felon and had 11 separate sets of bail conditions stemming from previous arrests.

Police say Janak first came to their attention during an unrelated investigation, and they’ve been trying to locate him ever since.
