Game Warden K9 helps locate missing woman in Bremen

A 77-year-old woman who went missing in Lincoln County was found with the help of a Maine Game Warden K9.

Game Warden K9 Koda and Game Warden Jake Voter were called to the scene of the home where Mary Forde lives alone in Bremen late Sunday night. She was last seen on Friday.

Neighbors called police, but a Knox County Sheriff’s deputy and his K9 were unable to pick up any sign or scent of Forde.

Wardens believe Forde had likely spent two nights in the woods before she was found about 600 yards from her house, with the help of the K9 who picked up her scent.

Forde is the second person found by Koda in the past week. On Friday, the K9 located a missing 11-year-old girl.

Forde said she had fallen and was too weak to get up. She was alert but severely dehydrated and taken to Lincoln Health Hospital in Damariscotta.
