A great white shark was possibly spotted in the waters near Boothbay Harbor.

U.S. Coast Guard crew members saw the shark Monday, according to the Portland Press Herald.

Crew members estimated the shark was 20 feet long.

Chief Adam Smart said the shark was about 9 miles off the coast of Boothbay Harbor. He said the shark followed the crew’s boat for a little bit before it went away.
