Two Maine residents potentially saved the life of a young woman who crashed her car Friday morning in Lyman.

Good Samaritan John Bedard says he randomly had the urge to take a different route home Friday, which led him to the young woman who crashed her car on the road.

She had crashed late Thursday night but was stuck inside her car until about 4:30 Friday morning.

Bedard said because she was in the car for so long, hypothermia had begun to set in, but thankfully she was still  conscious.

Bedard and another man offered her clothes off their backs in order to try and keep her warm until help arrived.

The woman has now been released from the hospital, and the rescue team says its men like Bedard who make Maine a great place to live.
