Governor acknowledges frustration over pace of reopening

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) Gov. Janet Mills is acknowledging frustration over the pace of reopening Maine’s economy.

She assured Mainers on Friday that she’s listening to their concerns as the first phase of reopening of the economy began with residents being able to return to businesses such as barber shops, hair salons, car dealerships, golf courses and most state parks.

Also effective Friday, Maine residents were required to wear cloth coverings when social distancing was not possible.

Meanwhile, a restaurateur became a voice for business owners frustrated by the slow pace by promising to defy the governor and reopen his restaurant to dine-in customers.
