Health experts are urging Mainers to get vaccinated as Measles cases rise in the U.S.

Health officials are urging Mainers to get vaccinated as Measels cases are on the rise throughout the country.

Texas has reported about 200 cases, and New Mexico has hit 30.

There have been other cases confirmed in several other states including the New England state, Rhode Island.

CBS 13 news reports that at least one person has died in Texas which is the first Measles related death in a decade.

The Person who died was an unvaccinated child in Texas.

While no cases have been reported in Maine, health officials say that getting vaccinated is the best course of action to protect yourself.

An adult from New Mexico who was also infected with Measles has died as well, however the cause of death has not been confirmed.
