BUXTON, Maine (WGAN) A 27-year-old who was wanted by police has turned himself in.

Buxton Police say Vincent Cole of Hollis turned himself in to officers who responded to a call around 8:30am Wednesday in Buxton. They had received a call referencing a wanted male suspect.

A search for Cole began Sunday when police attempted to assist the Maine Department of Health and Human Services to conduct a family safety check. Cole and his partner, Natasha West, as well as their 2-year-old child, were not at their home. Cole is a felon with a violent criminal history.

Police say he was cooperative and was taken into custody without incident. He’s charged by the Maine State Police with two counts of violation of conditions of release. He also faces several charges from the York County Sheriff’s Department, including elevated aggravated assault, driving to endanger, and criminal threatening.

Police have not said if West or the child was with Cole when he turned himself in.
