House explosion, fire under investigation; owner injured

EMBDEN, Maine (AP) — Firefighters in Maine are investigating a house explosion and fire that injured the homeowner.

The residence is a complete loss following the explosion Friday afternoon in Embden, state fire and police said in a news release.

The owner called 911 to report the explosion and then drove to a nearby fire department for help. She suffered injuries and burns and was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Her condition was not known.
