Maine State Police have released new details as they continue to investigate the discovery of skeletal remains in Casco over the weekend.

Police say they received a 911 call around 3:30 p.m. Saturday from a home on Poland Springs Road. A family member was cleaning out the home of their father, who had died earlier in the year. They discovered the remains in an outbuilding on the property. The father was identified as 82-year-old Douglas Scott.

The body was brought to the medical examiner, but more testing is expected to take place over the coming weeks. Police say they’ll continue to work to identify the remains and the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
