MACHIAS, Maine (WGAN) Police have charged a fifth person in connection with the drug-related killing of a New York teen in Machias.

According to the Bangor Daily News, 23-year-old Nathaniel Kerruish of East Machias is accused of helping to plan an ambush by an out-of-state drug gang targeting 17-year-old Brandin Guerrero in Machias in November of 2021.

Kerruish was indicted last week for murder and robbery charges.

Four other men from out-of-state were already charged in the killing.

An affidavit says Guerrero belonged to the Bloods gang and was in Maine to sell drugs.
