Investigation underway after Patten man dies in custody

PATTEN, Maine (WGAN) The Maine Attorney General’s Office says a Patten man died shortly after he was arrested by officers.

The office says 46-year-old Jeremy Lau died after officers with the Maine State Police and the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office arrested him at a home in Patten on Tuesday morning.

Law enforcement responded after receiving a 911 call from the home.

The Attorney General’s Office is investigating, and the medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

No other details have been released.
