An Alabama man was arrested Thursday and charged with arson in connection with a fire in Eddington last July.

59-year-old Luther Green, formerly from Eddington, was taken into custody in Alabama and flown back to Maine, where he’s being held at Penobscot County Jail.

Green is accused of setting fire to the Heritage on 9 Restaurant and Tavern, which had closed in 2023 and was not occupied at the time of the fire.

The case remains under investigation.
