PERRY, Maine (WGAN) One person was killed in a house fire in Washington County on Sunday.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire broke out at a home on Golding Road in the town of Perry on Sunday around 6 a.m. Investigators believe the victim is 32-year-old Bradford Preston Jr., who lived in the home. He appears to have died from smoke inhalation. Additional work will need to be done to confirm a positive ID.

The owners, Phyllis and Robert Murray, also live at the home but were staying elsewhere at the time of the fire.

Investigators believe the fire started in the ceiling, but the cause has not been released.
