Investigators say weather a factor in crash that killed pedestrian in Lewiston

A woman who was hit by a pickup truck while trying to cross a street in Lewiston has died.

Police say 44-year-old Jessica Sawyer of Lewiston was crossing Main St. around 4:30 a.m. Monday when she was hit by a pickup truck being driven by a 31-year-old Auburn man.

Sawyer was taken to Central Maine Medical Center with critical injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Police say weather and road conditions appear to be factors in the crash.
