PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) JetBlue airways will no longer offer year-round service out of the Portland International Jetport.

The airline made the announcement Tuesday, saying they would be transitioning service out of the jetport to summer seasonal service, which is part of a nationwide network adjustment. The flight schedule will remain in place until January 7th, 2019.

Jetport Director Paul Bradbury released a statement Tuesday, saying “While this announcement will mean a decrease in seats to New York City starting in January, we are not losing service to JFK. Our partners at Delta Air Lines will continue to operate that route through the winter providing for all of the international connections available from JFK that our global business community demands.”

The jetport says passengers who have booked flights for after January 7th will be contacted by JetBlue to coordinate rebooking or refunding.
