July has been the hottest month in history for Portland

PORTLAND (PORTLAND PRESS HERALD) — The city of Portland has been experiencing a record-breaking month for temperatures this year.

According to the National Weather Service, this month temperatures were averaging 73.7 degrees Fahrenheit, 4.6 degrees above normal and .6 degrees hotter than last July- which was also a record breaking temperature.

The highs some days easily topped 90 degrees but it wasn’t just highs breaking records. July 27th, for example, didn’t cool off any lower than 78 degrees- the highest low for that day on record.

As temperatures are expected to remain roughly the same in the next few weeks, though with some much-needed precipitation on its way.
