Police say one man is dead and a juvenile is in custody after a shooting in Waldo County on Friday.

Shannon Moss with the Maine Department of Public Safety says officers responded to a home on Littlefield Rd. in Brooks a little after 9 a.m. Police identified the victim as 49-year-old James Cluney of Brooks.

He was taken to the medical examiner’s office where an autopsy will take place over the weekend.

Later in the day, a juvenile was arrested and charged with murder. He was taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center.

Police said the two knew each other, but were not willing to go into specifics about their relationship.
