Juvenile charged after reports of shots fired in Portland neighborhood

A juvenile was taken into custody after a report of shots fired in Portland Monday night.

Police responded to the report around 10:30 p.m. on Alder Street. Officers who responded heard shots coming from Chestnut Street, and dispatchers received a second call for shots fired.

Witnesses reported seeing a male fleeing the area with a gun. Officers took the juvenile into custody on Lancaster Street after a foot pursuit where he dropped the gun.

He faces several charges and was brought to Long Creek Youth Development Center.

There was no word of any injuries or damage.
