AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) The Maine Legislature is returning to the Maine State House for the first time since before the coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday.

The legislature had been using the Augusta Civic Center elsewhere in Maine’s capital city as a temporary home. Lawmakers are scheduled to meet in the state house on Wednesday and Thursday.

Mask rules have become an issue with the reopening of the state house. Maine has lifted mask requirements in most of the state, but they’re still required at the state house. Some conservative lawmakers declined to comply with the mask rules last week.
