Lewiston Man Dies in Readfield Crash

A 43-year-old Lewiston man is dead from a single vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Readfield.

Maine State Police say Steven Gregoire was driving a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee along Chimney Road when he appeared to drift off the shoulder, causing the Jeep to strike several trees.

Officers say their preliminary investigation indicates Gregoire may have fallen asleep and was killed instantly in the crash.

The crash was reported at 12:44 a.m. Sunday.
